The PVC edge banding substrate is composed of PVC resin, calcium carbonate powder and various auxiliary materials (stabilizer, DOP oil, ACR, stearic acid, carbon white powder, toner, anti-aging agent, etc.). The trimming effect of the edge strip is related to the recipe of the substrate.

1. PVC wood edge banding

It is printed on PVC substrate with ink and then cured by roller coating with UV paint.

Wood grain edge strips with a good vivid woodgrain effect depend on the quality of the ink. When the edge band is printed with good quality ink, the simulation effect of the edge band is close to the board, the printing dimensional layers are rich, and the interior fading is not obvious within three years. At present, the edge banding with rich printing layers is mainly three-color printing, followed by two-color printing and one-color printing.

Test method: The edge banding printed with different inks are placed under strong sunlight for one week, and then compare with the samples without exposure to the sunlight to see the fading level between the two edges. The degree of anti-wear and transparency of wood grain edge strips are related to the quality of UV paint. If the edge of the edge strip is easily scratched or blurred, it is due to the use of inferior UV paint. The degree of adhesion of the edge strip to the board and the adhesion of the edge strip to the hot melt adhesive depend on the quality of the primer

2.  ABS edge banding

ABS resin is one of the most advanced materials in the world. The edge band made of it is not doped with calcium carbonate. It is smooth and transparent after trimming, and it will never appear white. However, the production cost is higher, and it is about double than that of the PVC edge banding of the same specification

3. Solid wood veneer edge banding

Solid wood edge banding are mainly used for furniture with veneer. This product is coated with non-woven fabric on the back to increase the strength of the veneer and prevent the veneer from rupturing. The normal length is 200 m / roll, so it can be used continuously on the edge banding machine to improve work efficiency.

4. Melamine edge banding,

It is commonly known as paper edge banding, has the advantage of being easy to stick. It is not easy to be deformed when it is hot or cold. However, its characteristics are brittle and easy to fold, and it is easy to be damaged in furniture production and handling.
